The reason many fail at their online business is that we spent most
of the time thinking on the negative, constantly beating ourselves up.
We wake in the morning with doubt after doubt, thinking we are
going to fail…to this I say, get a CORKBOARD.

Are you stupid? Are you afraid of failure? Do you believe that you
will inevitably fail at your business because you think things like that
could never happen to you? Well, you are incorrect about yourself. I
ventured into a few businesses just like everyone else and these
three questions above rang loudly in my mind every morning. The
worst part about that fact was the fact I listened and, eventually, failed
what ever it was I was doing.

Eventually though, I met my mentor, my guide to success. The first
thing he told me was to get a cork board. It had to be the strangest
thing I had ever heard when he said this. I figured he would have me
downloading program after program and bookmarking every outlet
for marketing ones self on the web. Nope, he told me to get a cork
board, and here is why.

Many of us before we found success repeatedly beat ourselves up.
We never took the time to count the many blessings we had in our
lives before we took up the business we were in. So I purchased a
cork board and began to pin up photos of everything I have a reason
to smile about. Wife, children, friends and the goofy things I enjoy doing
like surfing, and fishing.

Next I began to hang up notes of things that I had begun to accomplish,
and below that, things I needed to accomplish. I looked at my blessings
then back to the accomplishments and put two and two together of why
he had me do this…I truly am not a failure. As a matter of fact, you and I,
the individuals taking on our right to create a business, to create a future
for those on our cork board? well, we will succeed. In the end, we have
already succeeded.

At first it seems rather strange the fact that a simple tool can do so much
for your self esteem, but it did. I felt gratitude in the most simple of things. I
found it in the fact that when I woke up at 5am to jump online and write this,
that at the same time I made the coffee for me and my wife and even did the
dishes from the previous night. You are worth a cork board, never forget that!
Be thankful for what you have at this moment, and later, you will appreciate
everything as you continue to place more and more upon your cork board.
